Object Story |
From the Hancock house, built circa 1820 in Bath Ontario, which originally belonged to the Hancock family. The house was possibly sold to James Henry Young, who was born in 1845 on Prince Edward Island, he ended up in Lennox and Addington County where he lived with his wife Ellen Eliza Paul. However, in 1875 they were living in South Crosby, Ontario, where they had their son Charles Byron Young. March 7, 1906 Charles married Mable Pearl McGuin in Bath Ontario. It is possible that the house belonged to their son Frederick Charles Young, either through the Young family or directly through the Hancock family. Frederick Charles was born in 1909 in Bath. He continued living in Bath at least until 1936 when he married Edith Irene McGee. It is known that the couple were living in Bath later in 1971. Historical significance: LB stands for Lockwood Brothers, Sheffield |
