Wood bench on 4 short slightly splayed legs. Main section of bench has several short wooden dividers. Proper left end of bench is a seat portion. This seat portion is not as wide as the main portion only 30.48cm in width. The middle of the seat portion has a slight crater. The main portion of the bench has a side board along the proper right edge, a backboard with a small shelf for holding tools, and a small side board along the line separating the main portion and the seat. There is a wood drawer that tucks under the main portion of the desk. |

The cobbler's bench and tools which belonged to William Irvine, of Desmond, Camden East Township, and were displayed courtesy of Howard Bell. On the 1871 Census William Irvine is listed as a show maker, aged 61, born in Ireland. |
