Object Story |
Margaret Elizabeth (Lizzie) Sim was born in Sherbrook North, Lanark County April 19, 1873 to Walter Sim and Janet Duncan. Census records of 1881 and 1891 indicate that she continued living there with her family until she was 18 years of age. Lizzie is recorded in Vancouver, British Columbia the very next year at 19 when she married Thomas Hannah July 6, 1892. Thomas Hannah was born January 15, 1871 in Frontenac County to John Hannah and Sarah Steel. The records are unclear on what happens to Lizzie and Thomas over the next 20 years however the 1921 census picks back up with them in Vancouver at 1750 Maple Drive. The household at this point has a third occupant Myrtle Hannah, the daughter of Lizzie and Thomas. Myrtle was born Feb 4, 1897, in Vancouver. Margaret Elizabeth (Lizzie) passed away July 1st, 1955. |
