War Medal 1939-1945 enclosed in original box with original packing material. Medal: Silver circular medal on a ribbon. Obverse of medal features the crowned profile of King George VI with the legend "GEORGIVS VI D G:BR: OMN: REX ET INDIAE IMP:". Reverse of medal features a lion standing on the body of a double headed creature, one head is an eagle, one if a dragon. Above the lion is "1939/1945". Ribbon of medal is striped red blue and white. Box: Box is an off white colour and has a bottom and a lid that slips over the bottom. Bottom contains off white tissue. Top is stamped in purple ink "WAR MEDAL 39-45" |

Issued to Charles Henry Brooks, for serving in World War II. Charles was born August 2, 1925. He enlisted in the Royal Canadian Army Medical Corps on 15 November 1943. His trade was ambulance orderly. He served in World War II in Canada, the United Kingdom and Continental Europe. He was a member of the Canadian Army Pacific Force though he never made it to the Pacific before the war ended. He was discharged from the military April 24, 1946 with the rank of Private. This medal was awarded to full time personnel of the of the Armed Forces or Merchant Marines, for serving 28 days between September 3, 1939 and September 2, 1945. |
