Object Story |
This fur collar belonged to Elizabeth Gibson as a child. Beth Gibson was born May 4, 1923 in Greenock Scotland. She immigrated to Canada at an unknown date and married Wesley Mackinnon Alkenbrack. Together they had two daughters Betsy and Catherine. Beth was a long time employee of Napanee District Secondary School where she is noted as being a delightfully unorthodox history teacher. She enjoyed travelling, curling, and horseback riding and even learned successfully how to play poker in her 80's. She passed away August 23, 2016 in North Vancouver, British Columbia. |
