Iron WWI helmet belonging to a uniform of the 48th Highlanders of Canada. Helmet has round wide ridge around round bowl shape. Inside helmet is black leather headband to hold helmet in place, brown leather chinstrap attached to one side; broken off opposite side. Has metal ring inside. |

This belonged to Stuart Moore who lived on Wm Paul's farm on the West part of Lot 15 Conc 2 which was originalyl Camden II & is now Newburgh, Stuart enlisted in 1916 & was invalided home Dec. 1918. He never saw active service or got a kilt. Stuart's mother-in-law was Mrs. Joe Paul or Nancy Catherine (Kiate) Wartman. |
