Object Story |
These pants are part of the Dress of the Day uniform at the Royal Canadian Military College (RMC) in Kingston, Ontario. This uniform consist of a white shirt, a black sweater or light jacket and black trousers or skirt with a red stripe down the sides. The RMC was established in 1874 on Point Frederick peninsula in Kingston Ontario. As of 1959, RMC was the only federal institution in Canada that has degree-granting powers. Under the RMC name there are 5 faculties including: engineering, arts, science, applied military science and continuing studies that students can complete undergraduate and graduate degrees in. These pants were worn by Robert Sexsmith during his time at the Royal Canadian Military College. Robert was born to Florence Dunlop and Ross Lavell Sexsmith in the 1930s or 1940s. Robert graduated from the RMC in 1956 and then begun a bachelor's degree in Chemical engineering at Queen's University between 1957 and 1958. In 1983 Robert returned to Queen's University for his Masters of Public Administration. He currently works as an independent insurance professional and lives with his wife Kathryn in Kingston. |
