The Royal Canadian Army Medical Corps was an administrative corps of the Canadian military from 1898 to 1968. During the First World War, the corps provided field ambulances, a casualty clearing station and sanitary sections for the Canadian Corps in France, as well as Canadian general and stationary hospitals in the UK and on the continent. In the Second World War, a wide range of medical units deployed around the world, including field ambulance units, surgical teams and hospitals and convalescent depots. Soldiers deployed in support of many missions after the war, including the United Nations mission in Korea, and various peacekeeping missions. |
