Picture quilt; 12 blocks depicting Dorland UEL Cheese Factory, Sillsville United Church, Hayburn Methodist Church 1867-1967, Old Hay Bay Church, Sillsville Hall, No. 1 Ferry 1880-1907, Quakers of Adolphustown, map of Adolphustown, S. Fred., Parma School (SS No 4), Sandhurst School, mailbox RR 2, stone house c 1800. Names of sites embroidered on blocks with exception of Sillsville United Church. Colours include yellow, white, grey. Off white quilt top and backing. Fold over binding. Hand quilted with white stitching, Single Cable design between the blocks and around perimeter. Machine embroidery on some blocks 6cm wide. Hanging sleeve stitched to reverse. Names of quilters embroidered on backing - Juanita Everett, Alice Gray, Cora Barker, Joan Reynolds, Linda Brooks, Ruth Dickson, Barbara Dicks, Rosemary Wynott, Evelyn Tibbutt, Jean Hough, Jane Hough, Janean Hager - - in green and orange. |

This is an Ontario Bicentennial quilt made by members of Hayburn United Church Women (UCW) and quilted by seniors of South Fredericksburg and Adolphustown in 1984. The blocks depict historic buildings in the region, and on the backing of each block the maker's signature is embroidered. Their names are Juanita Everett, Alice Gray, Cora Barker, Joan Reynolds, Linda Brooks, Ruth Dickson, Barbara Dicks, Rosemary Wynott, Evelyn Tibbutt, Jean Hough, Jane Hough, and Janean Hager. |
