Pair of doll booties, moccasin-style with scalloped edges where the foot is inserted. Single holes on each side for lacing. Made of a thin, coated material meant to approximate leather. Probably part of the original "Vanta Baby" costume. |
Object Story |
These doll booties belonged to Margaret June Henricks. Along with a doll, they were given to Margaret by her maternal grandparents William Kirkpatrick (b. ~1873) and Margarina Kirkpatrick (b. ~1872). These grandparent owned a farm on palace road in Napanee though it is no longer standing. Their daughter Grace Bernice was born in 1903, she would marry C. Edward Henricks December 20, 1922. He came to Napanee upon marrying Bernice. The couple lived at 112 Thomas St. in Napanee. At some point after their marriage Margaret June Henricks was born. |
