France and Germany Star, with original box and packing materials. Medal: Star shaped medal of bronze, six pointed with ring at top for a gathered silk ribbon of blue, white, red, white, blue stripes. Central device is the monogram of George VI. Written on a ribbon encircling the monogram "THE FRANCE AND GERMANY STAR". Box: Off white rectangular box in two parts, lid fits over the bottom. Lid is stamped "FRANCE-GERMANY" in green ink. Bottom holds a piece of white tissue paper. |

Issued to Charles Henry Brooks, for serving in World War II. Charles was born August 2, 1925. He enlisted in the Royal Canadian Army Medical Corps on November 15, 1943. His trade was ambulance orderly. He served in World War II in Canada, the United Kingdom and Continental Europe. He was a member of the Canadian Army Pacific Force though he never made it to the Pacific before the war ended. He was discharged from the military April 24, 1946 with the rank of Private. The France-Germany Star was awarded for at least one day of service in France, Germany, Belgium, or Holland between June 6, 1944 and May 8, 1945. |
