Object Story |
Locket given to Florence Luella Warner by her husband Harold George Anderson. It is thought that Harold gave her the locket sometime between their marriage in 1912 and his death in 1932. Florence Luella Warner was born December 3, 1886 to parents Melissa Jane Warner (nee Garrison) and Augustus Coleman Warner. She grew up in Colebrook with one brother and five sisters though her youngest sister died as an infant. Harold George Anderson was born May 9, 1887 to Charles A. Anderson and Mary Jane Anderson (nee Houston). Harold and Florence were married September 4, 1912 in the village of Colebrook. At the time of the wedding Harold worked as a liveryman (someone who worked or owned a stable with horses for hire) in Napanee, while Florence worked as a house keeper as well as a teacher. Sometime before 1921 the family moved to 12 Dundas Street. In 1914 they had a daughter, Doris who would go on to be Head Girl of Napanee Collegiate Institute and study Math and Physics at Queens. Harold George Anderson passed away at the age of 45 due to carbon monoxide poisoning, December 5, 1932. Florence Anderson (nee Warner) passed away Monday January 8, 1990. |
