Object Story |
Myrtle Cornwell received this doll for Christmas 1919. The doll was a gift from her paternal aunt Gertrude Cornwall. Myrtle was born September 4, 1910, in Frontenac Ontario. Her parents were George Warren Cornwell and Margaret Wilson. The couple were married in Kingston Ontario June 12, 1907. As of 1919 Myrtle, had one older brother Earl Cornwell (b.1908), and two younger brothers Elmer Cornwell (b.1914) and Orval Cornwell (b. 1918). At this time the family was living in Parham with the older children attending school in nearby Wagarville. Christmas 1919 brought the gift of a doll to Myrtle from her aunt Gertrude. Myrtle grew up in Parham, and she made her residence here before her marriage to Roy Keith Botting (b.1909) a farmer from Verona Ontario. The marriage took place in July of 1930. The couple decided to live in Verona after their wedding. |
