Episcopal Methodists werebased in the United States and was one of two major denominations of the Methodist movement at the time. Napanee was chosen due tothe amount of "movers and shakers" that were found in the area however, all of these men were highly educated and well respected withintheir communities. Those attending the conference voted a new bishop into power and made decisions that aimed to move the newlycreated Ontario out of its agrarian past. A full list of delegates and their general location at the time can be found at the end of thedescription. However there are 10 men who are of particular interest due to their association with the county.William Service, designated as number 2 in the collage, was born in Prescott, Ontario between 1837 and 1839. He married Frances CalistaOsborne in April of 1870. He remained there until he died of aheart attack on February 9th, 1881 at the age of 59.Our final local delegate was Nathan H.
