These six black and white film negatives depict two Napanee Girl Guides. Sisters Carol Treacy (left) and Cathy Treacy (right) are shown here admiring their recently won Canada cords. The Canada Cord is the highest possible award any Canadian Girl Guide at the time could win, and can only be won by Guides who have completed many training programs, helped plan events and camps, and demonstrated social, leadership, and survival skills. This photograph was published on page 3 of the Napanee Beaver's June 11 1975 issue. |
