This collection contains three black and white photographs. A side view of the Centreville United Church with the cemetery in the foreground. This building predates the 1945 fire and has a white wooden siding with four windows visible on the long side and a single steeple. [VERSO] Taken in 1945 before the church was burned. Lucy Weese. Image of a brick church under construction. Four workmen are visible by the church carrying bricks removed from the wagon beside them. A fifth man is seated backwards in the driver's seat of the tractor hitched to the wagon, leaning slightly forward with his arms resting on his knees waiting while the bricks are unloaded. [VERSO] Building the Centreville Memorial United Church (named by Mrs. Wes Wagar) 1945 -- . David and Florabelle Ackerman were the first ones married in the new church June 17, 1950 Four men in suits or ministers' dress stand facing a wood framed pulley system on which a large stone is hanging. A fifth man is kneeling with his hand on the stone. Caption reads: July 24, 1946. Contractor Henry Young. Ministers Crawford, Beckel, Semple. Laying corner stone new church.
