Scope & Content |
This fonds consists of two CDs containing the music of the Sisters of the Drum, traditional and contemporary indigenous women's hand-drum music. The women's hand drum songs offered here honour the four elements and the four directions of the medicine wheel; the Water songs celebrate the life blood of our Mother, while the Creation songs pay homage to Earth and all her inhabitants. Sisters of the Water was recorded live in the great outdoors on location at Bellrock Mill in Portland Township, Ontario in 2013. The inter-track ambient enviromental sounds were also recorded at this location. This CD has 16 tracks and a total run time of 52:30:66. The same water that existed on Earth millions of years ago is still present today, but only 0.03% of it is drinkable. Are you thankful for the water you use everyday? Have you ever offered thanks to the water for the refreshing, clensing, restoring energy? Have you ever told the water how much you appreciate and honour the life-giving power? Scientists have discovered that water responds to our expressed intentions and our will influences the elements, so we encourage you to sing to the Water. Our bodies are 65% water so when we thank the water, including the water inside our bodies, we sparkle and glow from the inside out. Sisters of the Earth was recorded in the spring of 2014. Environmental ambient recordings of the White Pine and Spruce trees were made at Northbrook, Ontario in March 2014. All sound tracks on this CD were recorded at ma.ma studio. When She is sick, we are sick, by when She is happy and healthy and strong, we are all happier, healthier, and stronger people. We are all one in the Universal Circle of Life and the Earth is Our Mother. She provides us with everything we need to sustain life. She grows our food, trees for our fire, cleans our water and our air. What do we give her in return? How do we protect her? |
