This series consists of Paul family history recorded in Mary Dunlop Paul's family bible. These records document births, marriages, and deaths of relatives of James Harvey Paul and Mary Dunlop Paul in Newburgh, Switzerville, Jamesville, and Toronto between 1841 and 1971. Mary Dunlop Paul was born on April 12, 1844, in Belfast, County Antrim, Northern Ireland. She immigrated to Canada in 1851 and settled in Camden Township, Ontario. Mary married James Harvey Paul on September 9, 1868. Together, they had several children. Mary was of Irish origin and identified as a Wesleyan Methodist. She lived in various locations in Ontario, including Tyendinaga, Hastings East, and Camden East, Lennox and Addington County. Mary passed away on May 31, 1921, in Camden East, Lennox and Addington County, Ontario, Canada. She was buried in Newburgh United Church Cemetery in Newburgh, Lennox and Addington County, Ontario. James Harvey Paul was born on April 1, 1841, in Camden East, Lennox and Addington County, Ontario, Canada. He was the son of James Paul and Hannah Wood Paul. James was a farmer by occupation and identified as a Wesleyan Methodist. In the 1861 Census of Canada, he was recorded as a 20-year-old single male. By the 1901 Census, he was 60 years old and the head of his household. James passed away on November 15, 1917, at the age of 76, in Camden East, Lennox and Addington County, Ontario, Canada. He was buried in Newburgh United Church Cemetery in Newburgh, Lennox and Addington County, Ontario. Mary Dunlop Paul and James Harvey Paul's children included Agnes Jane Paul Moore, born in 1870, who lived until 1936. They also had Matilda Paul Clancy, born in 1849 and passed away in 1938, Shirley Paul, born in 1853 and died in 1929, Robert Paul, born in 1856 and died in 1927, Joseph Paul, born in 1858 and died in 1934, Hannah Mary Paul, born in 1860 and died in 1934, and Agnes Isabella Paul Shields, who passed away in 1905. |
