Description Note |
This map was printed in 1903 for the Montreal Daily Star and The Family Herald and Weekly Star featuring the official survey data map and official census population data from 1901 surrounding it. It is copyrighted to George F. Cram who founded and owned an American map and atlas company. George F. Cram and his uncle, Richard Blanchard, founded the company Cram & Blanchard in 1867. George became the sole proprietor two years later and renamed the company to George F. Cram Co. The company went on to become the first American company to publish a world atlas. In 1921 George merged the company with E. A. Peterson and passed away 7 years later. In 1932 the company began making globes which it became known for. The company ceased to exist in 2012. |
