Object Story |
The Basque style is characterized by the close contour fit that extends past the waistline over the hips in a corset line silhouette. This style was popularized in the Victorian era in France and has continued to have its influence upon fashion, most notably today in modern corsets. This jacket was worn by Jennie Hagerman sometime before 1976. Jennie Pinney was born in 1902 to William Pinney and Rosetta McNeil. In 1922 she married Abraham Anthony Hagerman a farmer, who passed away 14 years later at the age of 44. Following his death, Jennie lived out the rest of her life in Napanee. |
